ABOUT HUMBERTO

Humberto Alejandro Castro Ward was born on December 15, 1984, in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, and was raised just across the border in El Paso, Texas, after his parents separated during his early childhood. As a teenager, he developed a strong passion for acting, screenwriting and filmmaking, which shaped his future career choices. He graduated from Father Yermo High School in 2003 and subsequently enrolled at The University of Texas at El Paso, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, along with a minor in Criminal Justice, in 2010.

Following his college graduation, Humberto made the spontaneous decision to enroll in acting courses at Latin American Talent Studio, committing himself fully to a career in the film industry. He quickly began to demonstrate his multifaceted talents as an actor, screenwriter and filmmaker through his work in several short films. His dedication eventually culminated in the creation of his first feature-length film, El Sueño (2016), a project loosely based on his own lived experiences as a former undocumented immigrant navigating life in the United States. In 2023, Humberto advanced his acting career significantly by joining SAG-AFTRA after becoming eligible through a small, but noteworthy, supporting role in the action-thriller film Snag (2023), distributed by Paramount Pictures.

On the personal front, he became a legal U.S. resident on July 12, 2006 and was sworn in as a naturalized U.S. citizen on December 15, 2011, coinciding with his 27th birthday. In 2016, Humberto officially launched his own film production company, Award Pictures, a name he created by combining the initial of his middle name, Alejandro, with his second last name, Ward. He is also fully bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish, which has enhanced his versatility and reach in the industry. Humberto currently resides in El Paso, Texas, where he has been happily married to Lorraine Sanchez since August 23, 2014.
